I want to start a pay site for a model friend of mine. As I dont know a lot about the process, I'd really appreciate it if anyone can point me in the right direction with regards to a trusted, well run hosting service, that accepts legal adult material, can help with payments etc, and doesn't charge the earth or anything like it. Ta in anticipation.

You could try the company I use. Never had any problem with them! They host adult and non-adult stuff. Around ?80 per year.

110 GB Web Space
1110 GB Transfer
1000 MySQL Databases (v4 & v5)
FTP Access

They themselves don't do online carts, so you would need someone like CCbill.

Not sure about the e-commerce side, but since you can pretty much install whatever you need it shouldn't be too much of an issue.
