Not necessarily... When models work for my website they sign a model release which means they release the rights to ownership.

Means as a producer I'd keep the ?250 but under the terms Amateur_Films has stated I'd have to sign over my rights to ownership which I'm not prepared to do.

For ?250 they could film their own amateur content... hire a model, hotel room, on a camcorder. BINGO content.

Yeah, but I guess this is their way of cutting costs (if this is actually legit, that is). You gotta pay the model, say ?140 for a two-hour continental video shoot, on top of that you have to hire a decent hotel room, that's another ?60, then you have to cover your travel expenses, her travel expenses, the cost of the blank DV tape, by the time you've sent off your video you've just about covered your costs. That's if you get paid at all.

If anyone were to book a model and studio to film some hardcore video and was only looking at making ?250 from the whole thing, there would be some serious money to be lost.

I always have a good giggle when I get asked by people to make them custom DVDs, and they then tell me that they're only looking at spending ?40. My DVDs start at ?150 plus cost of materials plus postage and packing. Exactly what do people think that it costs to make this kind of stuff? Sure, I'm going to get someone to shoot unpublished hardcore footage of me for an hour, edit it down to twenty minutes, author a DVD of it and mail it out for forty quid. After the videographer takes his share, my pay on that would work out at less than a fiver an hour. Might as well go work at McDonald's.

No, I think what the channel had in mind when they started offering this stuff is properly amateur videos, as in made by Joe and Jane Bloggs in their suburban bungalow, not 'amateur' video shot by webmaster/content producer and featuring paid models. I think in most cases you'd have a hard time getting a professional porn producer to cough up the rights to twenty minutes of exclusive footage for a measly quarter-grand.

Maybe you could allay people fears and actually tell them what channel its going on. As most producers on this forum have contacts with channels that air this type of material, we could check with the station manager and vouch for you. This is a possible solution to the pickle you're in.
