Is there a need for a video model directory?

Have toyed with this idea for the last five years
Would producers benefit from a directory that simply lists models available for video not just still work
The starting level for any model listed will be solo continential .
Plus each model listed will have a sample video available to view on site
We would be looking to bring in new talent not just those available on every site on the net
Any ideas welcome either on this forum or via email

I have video showreels for models on www.adultindustryresources.com

So far it's not something that most models have - they don't have their own showreel, and they don't have editable copies of material from previous shoots.

What is clear though - showreels certainly help generate work.

Are you thinking of doing this as an agency?

If you are, you can have an account on AIR, and simply add all your models, so that enqs come to you, or (if you don't want the hassel of being an agency) just end me the details, pics and video and I'll set up their own account for each model..

The video directory was tried many years back but was dropped as it soon becomes out of date so quickly and the costs of updating in just time alone is too restrictive unless it's a hobby jobby. Add to this the rapid changes we are going through with Hi Def it makes the job of updating this a costly freebie excercise unless production costs can be recouped along the way but from who ?.

The ones we saw where really cheasy and it can have the reverse effect of putting you off hiring the model. Up to date pics are the only way really unless the models can offer to supply new video samplers.

One thing I would say is whereas most models have loads and loads of pictures of themselves, very very few models I know of own video of themselves, unless they are models who have their own paysites.

Even so, whereas it is possible for a model to get hold of very high-end professional images to advertise herself, high-quality video of the sort I would be happy to use to advertise myself (perfect lighting, perfect camerawork, perfect performance, high production values, explicit enough to give a good idea of my levels of performance but soft enough to be used as a showreel in areas that don't want hardcore, is very hard to come by.

Everywhere I advertise for work, I point out that I do video. Usually that's enough, and video producers seem to be able to find models for video fairly easily.
