hey there!
could some one just help me with abit of advice. im getting a cert done and have never had one before. ive had full sexual screening for everything that you can be tested for and got it on a certificate stamped from the clinic. they also offered me one which i had to pay ?30 for.
is the standard one from the clinic sufficent for working practices or do i need the all singing all dancing one???

What you need is a document that says - on clinic headed paper -

HIV - negative
Syphilis - negative
Chlamydia - negative
Gonorrohoea - negavtive

What about Hepatitis A, B & C?

Hepatitis isn't part of the standard cert in the UK, not even at Charing Cross.

They DO advise getting the test once a year, and getting the vaccine, but they say that it is hard to transmit Hep via sex, and they are the experts.

Personally I'd like to see Hep testing, but with clinics already overburdened, I don't think we will unless the evidence suggests it's needed. (Just like they started doing gonoraghhh swabs from the throat when they realised some people were carrying it there).

Is it true that for blokes having these tests they take a swab from down inside your cock and is it painful??

Stormchild - Nah mate, I think they usually do those tests just from a jar of wee these days.
Depends on the clinic though. The gay clinic I go to does it that way, anyway.

Also it makes it easier if you get a tasty nurse doing it,a female one that is because at Charing Cross there are male nurses that also do it but i think you have to request them im not sure maybe i have just been lucky , Maggie is nice!thumbsup!
