Advice please???

Hi people,


Right, i recieved an email today asking if i'd be interested in a shoot, they gave me a brief description of what they wanted (BG soft) and it'd be just stills, now this is the bit that got me! they'd be willing to pay me ?20!!! for the shoot, then ?100 upon publication/sale, then they mentioned doing a video, again soft BG, but it did say that if it went HC then i'd get paid more, for this they said i'd get ?50 at the time of the shoot and ?200 on sale/publication!

I thought this was a bit bizarre, is this common practice from so called professionals???

I really don't know-but my gut reation is it all sounds a bit dodgy!shocked!
not least because the payments mentioned seem quite small and there are some ifs & buts !confused!

If you do proceed do so with caution babe.

It sounds like the increasing numbers of wannabe producers who have an idea but aren't confident it will work, and so try and pass the financial risk onto the models.

Whilst its a win/win situation for him (if it works he makes a lot of money, if it doesn't h he loses ?20), for you, its lose/lose, as the best you can do is end up where you should have started financially.

Why some people these days think their business ideas should be totally risk and investment free to them is beyond me.

Anyway, this just set of alarm bells, i would pass on that one, for one thing the fee is far to low and second you have no way of knowing how succesful your shot was and if it sold, who are theses people, does anyone know them ?, also who are going to be the studs ???? sounds like a scam to rip of the models, stear clear girl theirs better offers out there and much safer, you deserve more !!

I have seen stuff like this before, but usually its a 'join liability' or 'basic fee' paid in advance (usually not much less than normal) and then a 'suppliment' paid on publish, which usually ends up with the model making 50% or so more than normal.

I always tell girls its a case of 'do you need the XXX paid now ? If you have plenty of work, leave it, but if work is slow and your happy running the risk of potentially earning XX% less for that work, then go for it'. It has to be a Win/Win on both sides in my opinion.

For example when a girl needs urgent money, lets say the Fee is normally ?300, she takes a ?200 Payment Now, and then ?200 on sale, she needs the money, prob would have accepted thr work on the ?200 alone, so its a win win for and a win win for him/her shootintg it.

I've told them my fee's are payable at the tme of the shoot, and hence i've not heard back from them!!!


All the dodgy emails i get seem to all come from net-model! it may be ok for some of the girls on there to do a full days shoot for ?20, but not for me!

I'm trying to get some recognition for being a female adult performer, not for being easy! or cheap lol

Net-Model has its place, its more a 'community of arty folks, and part time models', its a HUGE portion of the overall scene.

Everyone (HUGE majority) on there is more concerned with their 'arty' feel and vibe, and not really porn and turning a dollar.

Its also a very good place for models to start out, as lots of photographers are happy to shoot for free to try new stuff out. I own a similar site, and even i send people there to build a portfolio, as it has its place.

Because an immense number of newbies are are, there are also plenty of sharks looking to take advantage
