My Advice

You will need you good webmaster, loads of content, a host and billing company. If doing it yourself loads of time....

Have a three year business plan and don't expect great returns over night.

Hi Poppy

Best of luck with your new venture. When your talking to webmasters in an ideal world you need to establish whether or not the design work is just that, design only or whether they will promote your site and any affiliate programs you set up on the net.

Getting a good site is easy, driving enough visitors to it of the right type that will convert into sales is a much harder thing to achieve. Hopefully you will find a webmaster that is good at both.

Cheers Muppet

Contact me.

I've just been contacted by an experienced non adult designer who needs an adult project to show off his skills.

So it might be a good way to get something very nice at little/no cost.

However - you need to accept that you'll need to learn how to do updates of content, and do your own marketing/recruitment of affiliates. In the long term a low cost webmaster ONLY wants to do really tech stuff and solve problems, not day to day admin.

Also, you need to be adding new material all the time. Use your spare days to get your own content made (BGAFD is full of willing guys....) so you have plenty to launch, then after launch, be doing at least least two scenes a month for it, pref more.

I still love performing and shooting, and always happy to help people make porn. Esp if tittivation.com will be an outlet :-)

Hi Poppy

The problem you have is that guys/girls who run a website will not help you because in the end you will be their competition.

Paul may have a kind offer for a web master however, please be careful because no web master will want to ?show off his skills? to a potential employer (only if that employer works in the adult industry). I would never say to an employer ?here's some of my web work? and it being a porn site. They would say ?Thanks! Don't call us we will call you!? I may be wrong but I don't think porn masters go around promoting porn websites to protential non porn employers.

A big part of a site is marketing. You need to seriously think about what is going to drive people to sign on your site rather than some other site. Example, I promote Liz Vicious on my site mainly because she markets herself as a teen goth porn girl. AM69GIRLS soon will start promoting itself for water sports as all our new shoots consist of very close up peeing scenes. Other than your name think how your site what will be different than the thousands of other model and porn sites? (Not that there will be anything new, but you have to market it that it is).

Anyway, if would like to chat more drop me a line on enquires@am69girls.net

All the best

In this case, and the guy just sent me an email out of the blue today, so its not like he's a mate, I don't think he wants to build a porn site to show non porn clients. He wants to develop a porn side to his business, and needs to develop a first site as his calling card there.

A lot of the web designers in porn have non adult interests as well, and most like to keep the two separate.

Your marketing points are very well made however.

For a performer centered site the key has to be building a relationship with the fans, have chats, maybe opportunities to meet, take suggestions as to things to include in the shoot etc. These are things that a performer can do with their site that the theme driven ones - eg watersports - find it hard to do.
