Nice clean layout mate.

I'd put your small thumbs through a compressor to reduce the size of them, 32kb for a thumb 100x133 is way to large. It may not sound much but it will make your gallery load a lot faster, expecially for those who are not on broadband.

I'd also do the same with your pics as the sizes of them are bigger than needed and also will effect the speed they will load.

As for too many pics, I presume those comments were made in relation to promoting and giving too much away for nothing rather than bandwidth used. Its all down to marketing though and knowing what sells best for you and your sites.
