Question about the cut off point for shoot???????

Post by Paul Taylor »

Hi guys, just a quick question.
We all know cancellations right? that some models let you down and you have no time to find someone else. So I Have a shoot booked for Saturday and I want to know tonight if its a go as if I dont hear nothing from the model then I am going to find someone else while I have the chance. Is that fair?

I think if no e-mail replies or answering of phone then I have to cover myself right. As you know I have been doing this years now, but after years of the odd let down here and there, I am starting to get tough.

I think that as long as the model is made aware of the cut off point for confirmation that this a perfectly reasonable request. If you find yourself in need of a reliable model then please get in touch!

Donna hun, I have plans to shoot you darling and you are on my list, just not the next one after the send model I am shooting. I wont name her in here as it isnt alowd, but thats what my forum is for and it will be posted if I get let down. Unless the next few let me down donna then I will get intouch asap but I am trying to make it fair.

I have phoned, and txt and had no answer back and said the cutt off point was tonight.

Thanks for the advice, it could go acourding to plan but its looking doubtful and I have a site to shoot for.

I will get to you Donna Hunny.

Things sometimes do genuinely go wrong for models ( and anyone else) at the last minute.

I've seen a model accidentally drop her phone down the loo.

Another model saw her dog eat her cat and was too upset to contact me (I didn't believe it at first, but I later discovered it was true)

I couldn't contact a model once because she was hiding under a bush from police in the New Forest.

Things happen why people can't get in touch with you.

Oh I know that, what I mean is I will find another model for saturday and if the reason is genuine and of course it can be, then I can re-book another time by all means, but rather be stuck all together I am trying to be fair

As long as people are clear in the begining with these thing it is fair enough to cover your back. I always arrange for a call or text the day before a shoot to confirm it and if i didnt reply to this I wouldn't be shocked if i was replaced. Good luck on saturday.

What you do, is err on the side of caution: You should get the other model booked NOW, and then if they BOTH turn up, you shoot a threesome... Problem solved!

We always ring the day before a shoot and see if things are still going ahead and go from there, if its a big shoot we have other guys & girls we can contact if it goes pear shaped.
Give anyone the benefit of the doubt once but if you are hiring a studio or any other venue which costs lots of money hire solid models you can trust & use the less known ones for shoots at home or in hotels. Have fun....
