Question about Affiliates

Hi folks - a quick question for webmasters who run affiliate programs.

there was a documentary on the TV this week about websites that offer "cashback" savings for people who purchase goods online. The middleman basically gets a commision from the product seller but in this instance they were offering half of their commision back to the customer.....a win win win situation for everyone.............................

so my question is basically can this be done with adult sites?
Most affiliate programs offer 50% commision etc.....but if there was a way to offer the customer "special discount" for joining the site through the affiliate, then i would have thought this would have helped membership retention. Im not too sure how the customer would get their cash back but my idea is simply to split the commision with the customer .....
for example: membership to website is ?20 monthly....the affiliate gets ?5 commision and the customer joins the site for ?15.

Is this being done already.....and if not...........do you reckon that is a workable model?

You can already give the customer a discount for the rebill price... for example they join at $24.95 but get rebilled at $19.95... so in a way this is giving them something back...

As for the initial join price I dont agree that its possible to give, or the webmaster should wish to give any money back... the affiliatte will still want his 50%... that is pretty much the industry minimum, some programmes offer 60-70%...

The webmaster is already splitting the money coming in pretty thin... with the affiliatte fee's, the billing companies fee, and then the expenses he has such as servers and shoot costs trust me out of every sale he proberly see's about $3-4... there is no profit margain to give the customer anything back...

Unless after the customer as joined they are spending on other things within the sites to up the average spend of the customer then your screwed...

As I said offer a discount on the rebill price, make a good site with good content, update regually, have interaction on the site with the models where possible... and you will retain fine

Im note sure if i was clear in the original post..........im talking from the perspective of "the affiliate"

I understand your comments about the webmaster not wanting to give back any more, but what im saying is ..."is it possible for an affiliate to share their cut with the paying customer?"

Again Dave I dont know any affiliatte who would give up any % of their commission... yes this may be a little short sighted or maybe just good business...

It is not the affiliattes responsibility to retain the customer, that is the responsibility of the webmaster... The Affiliatte would deem it out of his control to keep the member, and just offering a little % back would not keep him at the site if for example it wasnt rebilling...

Also most members dont stay joined to a site... they usually join, download most of the content... then leave and re join a few months down the road and do the same again...

The only way to truely keep members is to have interactive stuff liek live webcam inside the site, they buy into the model and want to be "part of her life"

The only other stuff is real "niche" stuff that people find hard to find... "niche" members are very loyal to the right sort of site...
