We've used godaddy they have a pretty decent admin system. We dont host with them though

Please do not use registerfly.com these guys are bad news... there was a shite load of trouble with them last year going through some sort of internal strife. The owner did a bunk with the money, lots of crap about a gay love triangle was comincal to read but 1000's of people lost domain names... And ICANN did feck all about it..

I'm fairly sure if they took porn off the internet, there'd only be one website left, and it'd be called Bring back the porn!

I use Netnation for everything but as yet dont host an adult content website , please make sure you are buying the domainname for 1, 2 + years and not renting the name on some hook-in to the provider !

All best

Domain names and adult hosting are two separate but and same things depending on what you want?

You can get a domain name .co.uk from http://www.weycrest.co.uk for around about ?7 for 2 years.

With some host you get a domain name as part of package. Servage is about ?80 per year for adult hosting which includes a domain name of your choice (as long as it's not taken). You own the domain name as it's registered to you.

I'm sure they may be cheaper adult host around.

I use as they are one of the companies that been around since the start for .co.uk's at ?6.50 for 2 years, and for everything else as you can get .com's for ?3.50 a year, so ?7 for 2 years which makes you .com/.co.uk under ?7 a year for the pair :)

Hosting wise, I have shared hosting, dedicated hosting and VPS off various companies, hosting in the US, UK and Canada, all comes down to how much power and speed you need.

It is said that both love and truth walk hand in hand. But if the need is great enough, can we learn to love a lie?

For .com domains I use Joker.com - they are the European domain registrar, so all the other euro based companies will register through them.

thanks for good response

one question how do you value a site up and running and turning over ?50,000 per year with low hosting costs.

i have details of one for sale, they have proof of takings via bank statements etc, but whats it worth.

who ultimately owns the material if you sell a site etc

advice appreciated

I believe someone told me standard market value is 4 x turnover.

So ?50,000 X 4 = ?200,000 would be an offer price.

I assume if they sell the site they would sell you all the content, model releases, and hand over full control. I would assume buying it out would also include it's name, domain name and existing customers. However, you would need to make sure and hire a lawyer.

We brought 3 sites in the US about 2 years ago now. It quite straight forward, just get everything written down in a contract as to what you are actually buying. We witnessed them transfering the domain names to our DNS while we were out there.

Also ?200,000 is way over priced, what you need to look at is the profit and not the turn over. 50k a year isnt a huge amount of money in terms of turn over, to pay 200k would take you a few years just to get a return on your dosh.

to make 50k they may spend 20-30k on models, venues, equipment etc etc.
