Some new models were given these advice by posters from this forum.

Have known these advice being given to models as far back as 3yrs ago, only just decided to bring it out in the open for a debate.

There are lot more I've heard given out to models but these 4 are the ones I feel requires a debate.

Yeah, well if you think about it, so is my reply... Put it this way. If a new model 'LEAPS' in, out of her depth, on a five man gang bang, and doesn't like it... Shes not gonna try again... If shes not gonna try again, shes not gonna make much more money is she? ie Career and earnings over before shes begun?

But Im talking from a slightly biased viewpoint, as I consider a model wanting to MAXIMISE her earnings wouldn't be long in the UK anyway... The big money and the big rewards are in America...

So f I were to advise anything along those lines, on the premise of her maximizing earnings, Id say try a few smaller shoots in the UK, see f you like it, see if its for you, and if so... Get stateside ASAP...


If, as you suggest the model wants to make the MAX money possible...

In realistic terms, a girl should do as little as she can possibly get away with doing and still make a good living from.

There are a few girls in the UK who can make a decent living from doing topless alone (Page 3 girls, etc)

There are girls in the US who can make a decent living out of nude stuff (Playboy Playmates)

There are girls who make a decent living doing a little bit racier stuff (Aria Giovanni, etc.)

There are girls in the porn industry who can get away with only doing girl/girl. (Jana Cova)

There are girls in the porn industry who can get away with not doing anal/DP or IR. (Jenna Jameson, Stormy Daniels, Sunny Leone, Jesse Jane, etc.)

The basic idea is to 'milk' a certain level of work until you have pretty much exhausted all of your employment opportunities at that level, then up your levels a notch and open up a whole slew of other potential clients who wouldn't hire you before because you didn't work to their required level.

In the US industry especially, certain producers and studios will pay a premium rate to secure a girl's first scene at a new level, simply because none of their competitors will have anything like it. Jules Jordan has been pretty successful at doing this.

Look at Sunny Leone for a good example of a girl who knows how to manage her career in stages. She's only just done her first boy/girl scene and is contracted exclusively to Vivid. When it comes time to renegotiate that contract, she still has the bargaining power of never having done a b/g anal scene and a variety of other on-camera acts besides...she still has a lot of cards up her sleeve that she can play whenever she needs.

Depending on what a girl does at the start of her career, she will also have a number of 'firsts' that she can parcel out along the way...but if they do everything and anything straight out the gate, then they don't leave themselves anywhere to go. It all depends on what level a girl starts at (they can't all be Lucy Pinder) and what level she's prepared to to (double anal?) and what sort of career arc she envisages for herself that will determine what they do and when in their career that they decide to do it. As has already been pointed out in this thread, location has a lot to do with it also...there are many more producers in the US meaning more work opportunities at all levels...a girl who works solely in the UK may not have the luxury of time that a girl in the US has, and thus may have to up her levels a lot sooner than her US counterpart.

Ideally, if you can last out between 6-12 months at a level before upping it, you can prolong your career quite nicely. If girls can last out much longer at their current level and still make a decent living, then good luck to them. Jenna Jameson is a great example of this, as is the current No. 1 girl Stormy Daniels.

I agree advice 1 is good advice for models to test out the water first etc.. but it doesn't make you any more money overall in your porn career.

Every new models has different maximum career earning potential.

Model A might have a career earning potential of say ?50k, where model's B career earning potential could be ?200k

Your porn career earning potential is governed by your good looks, curves, good attitude and obviously natural big tits is a definate bonus.

Even if you have what it takes to make it in porn, bad attitude and throwing a couple of no-shows here and there will eat drastically into your career earning potential as producers quickly learn to stay away from you.

If you're a model whose total career earning potential is ?50k, pro-longing your porn career by to 4-5yrs by doing solo first for a year or two before upping your level does not mean you will earn more than ?50k overall, it just means it will take you 4-5yrs to get your ?50 in the bank

on the other hand if you start out doing all levels from start, you'll get your ?50k in the bank within 9-12months.

When advice 1 is given to new models by some so called professional experts, it is made in the context that the models earns more money by dragging out her career to 4-5yrs which is simply not true

Yep you said it Skinny. Also, given the market is swamped with pretty newcomers all the time, not many girls are as bankable as their fees would dictate.

Though there are exceptions to this rule.
