DVD Cover Design - How Am I Doing ?

Ok playing around with designing DVD covers for the stuff I want to put on Strictly Broadband... might get my designer to do it, but thought I would have a play first... only early stages not the finished product... but how am I doing ?

Looks good nice clear pics, some different fonts for the names may look it better though. If you can make the names line up may improve it but thats just my opinion

Kind of a work in progress people... if you click refresh it is changing all the time... but kind of think thats proberly it for the front page

I hear what your saying Asylum... I aint totally happy with the text... however I do prefer the slightly off set text as opposed to lined up... I always remember some one telling me it drew the eye better... not sure how true that is...

Font wise I want something different... but cant find anything that really really grabs me...

The back page will show two or three scenes... will work on that a little later, way too much like hard work for me lol... more feedback please

There are some amazing font packages out there. If you do a few searches you can download some amazing font packs

To be honest I got a absolute ton of fonts, many custom ones too... it dont matter which one I use it just isnt grabbing me... maybe the font is too big slightly ?

I'd remove the stray hairs from Natalia's face on the main image. I agree that the font could be improved upon.

I think thats it, the font is a little large and draws my eye away from the image.

Maybe try a drop shadow in another colour on the text.

Yeah will tweek the pic of natalie with the hair strands removed I did think that myself, just being lazy...

And yeah going to play with the fonts in a bit... just on a break lol

It's quite eye-catching, which is the main objective... You should post it in the final sizes it would appear on Strictly Broadband. When it comes to DVD covers, size matters. !happy!

The small thumbnail is 100x142 and the large cover is 220x313... don't forget you need a front and a back. By convention the front is simpler, and maybe has just a couple of large images. The back will have a larger selection of images. Of course, conventions are there to be broken.

I have scaled it up from your 220x313 size you quoted me... the image posted here is 880x1252 so 4 times bigger than the size for SB...

Once its finished with all tweeks then I will post a 220x313 example

And yes I have some ideas for the back cover...
