i hate when everyone says "go to small claims, its so cheap" but they fail to mention its not easy and in the long run isnt always that cheap.
u still need legal advice and the CAB do not give legal advice.
i spent the first half of this year in and out of the small claims and big boys courts on two seperate cases.
i had to deal with a whole load of soliciters ripping me off as they didnt really want to get involved in "adult" cases.
u have to be prepaird for the defendant to move the case to the other end of the country.
all sorts of shit can happen to throw a spanner in the works. just getting hold of the courts themselves is tiersome.
luckily the lawyer i did find in the end who kindly dealt with me as part of his community aid thus not costing me anything (anyone who wants his details can email me) convinced me that going to court is an expensive and time consuming business.
i ended up settling out of court and got my base costs back but not the tens of thousands of pounds of damages due to me. i would have spent what i would have won in legal costs (he could only do so much for free) and i would have spent valuable time that i could have been working and making money instead working on the case. in the end as much as im an eye for an eye girl i had to admit going to court isnt so simple and doesnt achieve great results.
if it really were that simple we would all be making small claims for silly stuff.
ur better off warning other girls and moving on with ur life.
