Massive boobs & Serious request.

Hi.
I manage the site teenmodeltara and have been looking round for better ways to market the site.
Affiliates seem to be the easy option but personally I hate the idea because the percentage taken by them seems to be so large.
I have had huge rows with people in the past over this and don't wish to start one here but recently I was 'offered' the chance to be marketed by one guy and the percentage I would have been left with after each sign-up would have been 7.5%!!!
He was gonna take 50% for profit and 20% for his admin costs. (The rest would go to the billing company)

Now I'm a reasonable person but that's bloody ridiculous and silly examples like this are the reason I'm off the idea of affiliates.

However... If someone wants to make me a reasonable offer then put your emails here with some details of your offer.

Personally I would be willing to bring someone on board as a partner to handle the marketing side...
Again, any takers?

The standard thing for an affiliate program is 50-50, if the guy wanted 70% that's a bit cheeky.

Affiliate payouts should be 50/50 and never forget that its 50% of something you didn't have anyway... the crazy, "I'm not letting go of 50% of those sales" attitude is exactly why the UK based internet market seems to be so slow.

It's 50% of sales YOU didn't make yourself, you should think of it like free promo staff working for you and that's their commission. I know some affiliates who work crazy hard for their money!

Anyway, who am I to speak? Listen, your site looks good, it's markatable and niched so look around, don't be afraid to approach lots of different networks and certainly if you get into talks with them about their programs then just ask to see their stats and figures to judge if it's the right one for you man.

Finally, from the outside the site looks cool. Personally I think you give a lot of content away on your preview page but it is not really selling the site as well as it could. Perhaps a tour as apposed to just a preview page would help sales?

Lead the potential member through what the site has to offer, use words and bold ads for the different aspects of the site and different things that it has to offer page by page and then lead onto the sign up page.

I'm no designer but I think that is just constructive criticism, at the moment the previews don't really say anything about the site, just shows the type of content... and a fair amount of it.

I just love you Keni, again your blog is the best I've ever seen.
Just read out your post to Tara and she's well pleased hat you took the tie to whack on off. Also I'm pleased too as I've said tie and time again that this is not about art. If your customers aren't pulling their pants down then you've missed the mark. (And I come from a fine-art background!)
But I take your point about offering too much free stuff.
The idea is about allowing plenty of free stuff to be posted on boards at this early period of the site... so we have free stuff aplenty on the site.
Also, the preview section is there to let potential customers see how simply the galleries work as I believe men want the content as easy to access as possible.
You may be right about the design not actually leading to a sale but this will be addressed when the site changes in about a month or so. We have some stuff to add and may be adding a genre or two... who knows? we're still in discussion about it.
Nevertheless, thanks for the input and your time and efforts to help us out Keni.
If ever Tara does move into full B/G stuff you're on the list.
