the term became popular because of the film american pie. in the film a milf is a a woman who is attractive and has a child of at least high school age. it is this high school aged kid that has friends that can then describe the mother as a milf. NO OTHER DEFINITIONS ARE ACCEPTABLE.

MILF = attractive woman with children at least 16 years old.

making 90% of milf film descriptions bullshit.

I was told many moons ago at the ripe old age of 36 women that age don't make many films, couple of years later we decided we would make our own mature porn as it wasn't fashionable then.
At 50 i'm now a real granny & do better than i have ever done so i can why the producer who told that in the first place is out of business now, MILFS should be from late 30's early forties but to keep up the demand for older actresses lots of younger girls are used to fill the gap.
