Advice/Help Required

Have been a long time lurker and been picking up some bits and bods of advice from reading various posts/threads on here for sometime with a view to getting into the industry. I didnt want to be one of those who jumps into it head first without finding out about the industry and certainly didnt want to start a thread "announcing" my arrival as i have seen many a person chewed up and spat out on here in the past as certain people seem to be a bit unhelpful to new guys stting out. So have been slowly absorbing all the info i can before i decided to go ahead and do a shoot.

I did my first b/g shoot two weeks ago with amatuer model i found on Glamourfinder. I travellled for four hours to get to the location, did the shoot no problem and was told that the pics/video would be forwarded on to me as i asked for a copy to help increase/build up my profile.
The lady i worked with said this would be no problem and to e mail her in a week to remind her to forward them.
Two weeks has past and despite a couple of e mails i have had no photos or video forwarded to me or no repy to my e mails!
I signed a model release form on the day of the shoot as i was happy with the content to be used for her two websites and in return i would get a copy of the pics/video.
Am i being a bit impaient here or am i right to be annoyed and starting to think that i wont get anything back from the shoot???
The lady lives abroad and is only here for a couple of weeks each year so contacting her by phone is out of the question.
If anyone has any help/advice what i can or should do please let me know.

On a side note, despite what has happened i really enjoyed my first ever b/g shoot and would be happy to do another if anyone has any work available. I can e mail some pics if need be and im based in Scotland. Cheers.

Hi James ... great that you taking the plunge at long last, and all went well on the day- if its a lady with a dubious sounding foreign name im glad I DIDNT bother with this ...... I suspect they travel, shoot, travel on and are too busy to be bothered with the time consuming part of the deal ..tho having said that if they are traveling even 2 weeks is a bit short notice to be doing any sort of renering/editing/forwarding on etc.... I hope they have just been busy and 2weeks was just an ambitious time frame... keep plugging away hun as its not all bad out there- it may be a lesson well learned in the end, that your gratefull to make now.......... !happy!

"You can have a copy of the material", can be one of those little white lies - said in truth but then low priority...

You should allow a few weeks - dumping to PC then editing, rendering, etc takes ages, and most people tend to do it in a batch, so could be weeks/months before they get round to it, esp if busy shooting/travelling.

If you really want material, next time LEAVE WITH IT ON A DISK. Or take a mate to film a short clip / pics during the scene. In either case, agree it in writing ahead of time.

Or, and this might well be the case here, monitor her site and when it goes up, grab the material or join the site on cheapo trial and grab it.

In general you will never see the stuff you're in until it crops up on TV, website etc.

I once did a shoot that sat paid for but unpublished for 3 years...

Sarah - From what i have see on the ladies websites and checked out previous shoots she has done she seems legit enough. Rather strangely she hasnt logged into her Glamourfinder account since 11th June and no new material has been added to her websites for a while which, going on previous content is unusual! Thank for the kind comments as well. !happy!

Paul - Think i will wait and see if the content does appear and will take your advice and grab it when i can! Once i get a few more shoots under my belt then i might be in a better position to contact you. I have another one in August but hopefully can get a few more lined up and done before then though.
