Cancellations and No Shows, an idea

How it works:-

1) Tog pays ESCROW the models fee.

2) ESCROW write to model stating that the money is being held, and that they need to confirm to ESCROW the shoot and the terms.

3) If shoot goes well, the tog would pay the model as usual, on set. Escrow money is then returned to the Tog, or, if he's is busy, just sits there to be used for the next shoot.

4) If TOG cancels then the model gets some of the fee anyway, depending how late the cancellation.

5) If MODEL lets people down then that is published.

ESCROW site then builds up a record of bookings and shoots and makes it clear who is, and who is not, reliable. This would be available only to members.

If people were interested I could set this up. Togs would need to pay for it, but at say a twenty a month then if 10-15 people committed I think I could build it and run it - though would need 40-50 people for long term vaibility.

Models could be members as well - after all only quality togs are likely to join.

adulwork uses escrow for webcam sales and other sales like clothing etc, the money is held in escrow for 24 hours after the show has taken place or the item doesnt get posted, to give the client time to contact adultwork if the show didnt take place etc and get money back.

True, so it's a way for the quality people to distonguish thermselves.

Model gets email offering work. She responds, - "would love to do it, but I require an X deposit for my travel, or you can use AIR Escrow".

Tog doesn't want to do either, well that sends a signal to the model.

the thing that worries me is that given most no shows seem to be amateur togs like myself ,models may be reluctant to accept bookings from amateurs.as i wrote in an earlier post i would be happy to give a deposit as a sign of good faith. perhaps a data base of reliable togs could be set up.i hope something can be worked out.i will be taking early retirement soon and there is so much pussey to be photographed and so little time (well i hope another 30 years)

It already can be anyway, just not on BGAFD. Making it clear up front just helps concentrate the minds of the less reliable.

The thing with any decent idea is how do you make it an accepted standard?

Most producers in the industry dont even read this forum. The ones that do will ust pass over it as another flight of fancy.

Good idea. Workable but wil never work.

As always i will be the first to apologise if i am wrong.

I wouldnt have to do any thing like this as i pay cash on the day and not fussed if a model did cancel on me. I'd just save my money for the next model and shoot.

I can count no shows on one finger in the last 5 years and wasnt aware this was such an epidemic in the industry until the last two.
