Do you guys like photoshopped models

Post by Ron T. Storm »

The likes of FHM, Loaded ect photoshop their models to death. For example where a model has bad skin or hides tatoos over scars. Is this a good thing or not? Do you guys want the perfect girl or your njext door girl?

Keeping this in promo as undecided over whether to 'photoshop' the models on my site.

Bear in mind we have all these girls unphotoshoped:

Sasha Caine

Katie K

Britannia Barnes (a little photoshopped)

Cate Harrington

Crystal Pink

and my favourite:

Vicki Peach

PS See more than 60 gilrs (90% un photoshoped on

I noticed it is 'in fashion' to over expose a model and white wash the back ground and make her look like something from early 80s porn where she is the dream girl. Seem this posted before. Do you guys like over whitewashed faked/fantasy photos?

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make mate? Are you saying models shouldn't try to look their best & photographers shouldn't get the most out of their images?

Or are you trying to have sly pop at a particular model?

Photoshop or non-photoshop isn't the issue... it's whether someone thinks a pic or model is hot or not & that's down to the individual. Anyway it's all academic because I think you'll find 99.9% of images nowadays have been retouched or enhanced in some way.

"I noticed it is 'in fashion' to over expose a model and white wash the back ground and make her look like something from early 80s porn where she is the dream girl. Seem this posted before. Do you guys like over whitewashed faked/fantasy photos?"

Or you could pose this question another way:

Do you guys like photographers to give their images a professional finish, or do you prefer basic/amateur looking pictures?

Like I said its down to personal preference...

Mr 3 rated.. Erm I really value your point. Hahahahahha. yahoo account set up in last two days???

Well forgetting that.

I was just going through several of my photos from when I started and I looked at how i used to over photoshop models. I loved the look but then it was pointed out to me that their skin looked artificial. Today I got my Loaded mag and looked at the girls and then noticed how fake their skin looked. I thought...'Christ on a bike' I hope I am not doing this. So I went through my last work to check what I had done as I didn't want to be a hypocrite.

And dude... Miss or Mr Yahoo cheap frills account. Fuck knows what your problem is to a sensible question..... but you have got me thinking now.....

SADDO. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Really good question mate and one I have asked on forums for years... cos you gotta listen to your public.
I suppose that's the point isn't it? doesn't matter what I like - only what fits my market. Some models need a little airbrush here and there (before or after the shutter pops open - let's face it, a good 'slap' job is a form of pre-production airbrushing, just look at DDF.com the make-up people there deserve a bloody Nobel Prize!)
If you have a model that doesn't need a wax-coating job then all is fine but even then your market might be people who want it even if they don't need it.
I think of it like a restaurant that serves great food - if your customer insists on HP sauce on the table then give them it or lose their custom - it's as simple as that.
The other issue for me is model satisfaction. I love doing work that impresses a model. I have heard enough models complain about pictures that others have shot of them and I take pride in making a girl look as good as I possibly can. Frankly, therefore I would struggle if I aimed at a market where girls were desired to be totally natural. I prefer to think of myself as in the fantasy business and the description of "whitewashed faked/fantasy photos" suits me down to the ground. I like to think that most of the time I avoid totally overdoing it but I will admit to throwing in a set of midtone-enhanced pictures every-so-often just to add some variation to my look.

Nevertheless - I have to move as the market directs (as do we all) so I listen to the feedback from the sites and do as I am bid by my bosses - the customers.

On a final note - what I prefer personally for my own edification!!!
Twistys & Mac&Bumble are far too heavily filtered - often without any reason whatsoever. I like the style of images created by the likes of mc-nudes, Hegre (et al), I do like DDF because the studio lighting is superb and purely for image clarity overall I like SCORE. (Or am I being controversial here?)
Basically, I think well lit, well shot images of models with a reasonable level of 'slap' do the trick every time.

Hi Daz,

When I started to use photoshop I really went to town until a certain well known tog pointed out to me that I had over photoshopped one model for my non porn website so much that her skin looked like plastic. Then again a lot of people liked the photos so like you say it is down to how much you 'smooth' out blemishes. I have had models personally love the photoshopped to death look and there are a few out there that carry those in their portfolios. And there is another problem for togs. I tend to ask for non photoshopped photos when models ask for work and closeups of their faces without the plaster of Paris. I like to know what I am working with.

I agree that mc-nudes and Hegre (will add Simonscans and Cate Harrington's to that) are brilliantly lite and the photos produced look out of this world without having to be photoshopped. I gather SimonD never photoshops his photos. They are all straight off the camera and just watermarked and resized.

And a reasonable level of slap does help every time.

Sorry Glamphoto - was a bit harse towards you. There are photographers such as SimonD, Simonscans, Hegre, mc-nudes who photograph models and do not photoshop the photos besides resize and watermark. I am more impressed by these guys as they get their shots right in the first place. They produce professional photos that stand out.

Hi - You have asked an honest question and for me,my own opinion no axe to grind with anyone,I hate it as i think it can be overdone with girls looking alot thinner, bigger or smaller boobs I just dont agree with it and you can get the wrong impression of a model who you have seen pics of,which have been photoshopped to death, and then you see her in person shes alot different. To put a balanced view i can see togs and the models argument about obviously making her look the best she can,and that has always been thrown in my face.I think its wrong but that is just my simple answer to an honest question.
