Yes, Carl Sagan was a real person (now deceased unfortunately).
He was a professor of astrology or similar and made a very facinating TV series back in the 1980's (or thereabouts) called "Cosmos".

I did have an (unused) gimp mask Sarah but I gave it to Cate (Harrington) which she's used in a video/photoshoot with Satine.
