Discovered this girl in a bar a while back - did a test with her and then one short shoot after which she told me she'd been 'snapped-up' by a big studio in London!
Wow, I'm impressed - as I'm sure is everyone else here.
She apparently won a competition where she got to have her make-up done and free pictures by this London studio and in return all she had to do was pay a fortune for her own expenses and prints/disc!
Well, obviously she's made it to the big-time then.
So anyway, she caught diva-syndrome and only wants to work with people who will (QUOTE) "Further her career."

Why are so many girls fooled by this bollocks - I'll never know???
What is it with the words "Big Studio" & "London" that can make a girl part with hundreds of pounds for a vanity shoot and somehow still convince them that it is in some way WORK - or that it's actually a positive step for their career???
Why is is that when half-decent 'toggers do a decent day's work they are soon looked down on by one-minute-wonders who think they're all that?

Shame really because I think she had a good chance of actually getting where she'd have liked to go.
Thankfully I got a couple of thousand pictures of her before she waltzed-off into the big-time.

Hi Daz,
I have just seen you set of pictures of Electra. Good stuff from you again.
She looks a stunning girl.

From the other part of your post i just wonder how much work the London Studio has managed to obtain for her and at what cost.
I wonder how many other girls have fallen for the same con.

I would say that you are helping her career more by just giving her publicity by posting some of her photos on here.

Do you have any contact details for her?.

Thanks for the compliment about my pix - always nice to be appreciated.
The con probably cost her quite a bit... and more than just money. This kind of thing can destroy a career before it begins. When I started modeling many millions of years ago I was caught in every trap there was and it was only because I was determined (and had quite a bit of cash behind me) that I could keep going. I would never call myself a successful model but boy did I get some experience out of it!

As we spoke about a week or two back Daz, when these cons are put to these new girls the seem to develop "tunnel vision" and just can't see (or won't accept) that it is just a con and that there is no way that they'll benifit from it.

Problem is, how do you stop new girls falling for it? You probably can't.

Yes I remember us discussing it...
I'm not so upset at the fact that she fell for a con (since that's her lookout if she's not prepared to listen to reason), it's the fact that she caught DIVA syndrome and decided I wasn't any good for her now she was in the big-time.
I'm annoyed because she was just beginning to get comfortable with the camera and producing half-decent results.
Anyway - her loss I think.

What a lot of them want is a "contract" with an "agency" then they feel like they are proper models. Purestorm is great for this with so many stories of what are just vanity shoots which the girls think are the opening into another world.

I laugh when I see "the photographer says Im a natural" which is translated as "pay me for another shoot" then they add "and my pics are being sent off to agencies in London". Of course nothing happens and then they are in the forums complaining about being conned.

The Diva thing then becomes "I only do fashion - I DONT DO NUDE OR PORN SO DONT ASK!!!" There is one girl I shot with who said she did B/G (I found a Jim Slip vid she did) now has gone to non-nude (said she feels nude etc is immoral) and wants fashion then is complaining about no work.

The best adjusted are the ones who have separate identities - one fashion one porn with different names.

On one shoot with an art nude model (doing US mag "cos I need the money for my hols") she said "what do you do with the pics?"
I replied, "I put them on the computer go to slideshow sit back and have a wank" - she didnt want to work with me again!

It always amazes me how many girls seem to be in this business for the "fame" of being on the books a "top class" agency even if this equates to never getting any paid work.
I've always lived by the rule that you're only successful if you can earn enough to pay your bills.
I blame Big Brother, everyone seems to be after a free ride on the fame wagon in the hope they don't have to keep working and can live on the payments from Hello magazine for the rest of their natural.
Girls with this attitude will never last long in any career but they don't help this industry when as a pp mentioned, they start to "slag off" porn as degrading just because they didn't have the nounce to make it.
