You're right Carder in that I very much doubt smaller outfits will take out insurance.

The purpose of the article was not to promote the sale of insurance; but merely to point out a few legal responsibilities - particularly in the case of EL which is a compulsory class of insurance. Any blame for the considerable amount of ambiguity within the Regulations rests squarely with the Government, and goes back to legislation drafted in 1969!

If there's sufficient demand forthcoming I am happy to undertake some research into the availability of insurance to the industry - as you'll appreciate it's not every insurer's 'cup of tea'!

EL and PL premiums will be based on turnover and typically subject to minimum premiums of ?200 - ?250 (each!).
