I could say that there weren't any "dreaded shakes" because I was using a.....errrrrrrrr.........ahem..........."tripod" !wink!.

But I wasn't, the trick (but don't tell anyone and give our secrets away) is to use a fast shutter speed. Boring really isn't it, not as much fun as my first answer? !laugh!

You'll have to sit an exam to get your "welders" ticket though Spanner by posting a good selection of YOUR OWN photos on here. If approved by the BGAFD "Board of Examiners" you're in. Failing that, a wad of ?20 notes in a brown envelope (passed secretly) to the head of the Exam Board will do nicely !grin!.

Dear Examination Board,

I am doing my first 'Non Storm' (and yes she knows !laugh!) photo shoot next weekend with a very nice local model who has gladly agreed to let me practise with my new camera on her rather nice features !drool! - providing I pass 'Photographer course 1# (taking the lens cap off) hopefully she will let me post a couple on here....!grin!

Yes, taking the lens cap off does help !grin!.
Mind you, if you do happen to forget, the pics you do get tend to be a lot easier to edit (even though they all look the same) !laugh!.

Another small "trade secret" for you. Digital cameras seem to work a lot better if you switch them on. Don't know why that should be but there it is !whistle!.
