Interesting paper on forthcoming changes to Employers' Liability Insurance:
To summarise, the Employers' Liability Insurance Bureau Bill is scheduled to have its second reading in Parliament next month.
The good news:
If (or when) this becomes law, innocent victims of uninsured employers will be compensated for their injuries/illness from a central fund.
The bad news:
1. This compensation will be funded via a levy, imposed either centrally on all businesses, or via Employers' Liability insurance premiums.
2. The bill is also proposing to set up a comprehensive database of all EL insurance policies.
This will have the capability of being analysed against Companies House data, etc. in order to identify and issue automatic fines to uninsured businesses. Of course the cynics might view this as nothing more than a means of the government raising additional revenue - but this is already happening with uninsured drivers via interrogation of the Motor Insurance Database against DVLA records!
The upshot of this is, there'll be no hiding from EL Compulsory Insurance requirements in the future.
My earlier paper on the wider topic of Liability Insurance for Adult Producers can be read here:

Re: EL Insurance for Producers - 'Heads up'
Be-Seen-Here - I'm merely trying to be helpful rather than make a big issue out of this.
The circumstances under which producers may require compulsory EL insurance are laid down as clearly as they can be in my UKAP article - following which I've had a number of sensible discussions with responsible producers. Dismissing this subject as lacking relevance demonstrates a scant concern for models' welfare and financial protection.
Could it be that you feel obliged to post based on my being the artist who painted "I Dream of Jeanie"? Or maybe it's because having met both Jeanie and TwisterUK in person, I know them to be two very different people? FACT.

It could be that this type of post is more suited to the UKAP website.
I believed the promotions forum was for the promoting of models and websites that have models on them.
Not to talk about insurance - which is more appropriately discussed on a professional producers forum.
Just my view on the matter.

Re: EL Insurance for Producers - 'Heads up'
Fair point James; not being a producer myself I don't use UKAP. Hence this post linking to my previous article, produced following discussions with Terry.
I'm happy to assist UKAP as far as I can with this subject should they feel I can be of any further assistance.

Hi Al...I see relevance to the topic you kindly contributed.
Not every producer uses UKAP and to be honest nor would I expect them too in as much as i would like as I understand there are some producers that still dont understand the relevance of having an HIV/ STD test until they are told by a model they want to work with.
I think Big Al was trying to afford there were some producers who might like to know of the liabilities they could face whether you be amateur or professional in light of accidents at work.
Just because you hire a model from a model agency to film that POV/ BJ scene for private non commercial use still means you are employing someone though it makes it tricky if there is no signed contract ie model release but those who are signing model releases should at least be aware that in the event of a model even catching an std and seeking legal advice then you could find yourself paying out more than just the fee you did to get your jollifications.
All this is assuming a model is pissed off enough and knows for certain. Chances of it happening are remote but who wants to be the first example?
Furthermore, this is a classic example of when information is shared how it is responded to and correct me if Im wrong but wasnt UKAP criticised for not having its producers forum open to the public?
