Which HD camcorder?

All the cameras I mentioned are usable with external mics but via the jack input. Granted not as good as using XLR, but audio is more important to some than others. I had a Sennheiser which was usable on a boom and connected to the camera via a jack to jack extension.
The route I am going with my next camera is to get a Beachtek box which enables you to attach XLR to your camera. Something like this: http://www.creativevideo.co.uk/public/v ... tek_dxa-2s

When it comes to all this over the cameras. I think I can safely say that which ever camera you purchase, either you have to be happy with it or even if you & everyone says this is the camera, you shall find that something better is out within a month or so.
I think what Carder said was more appropriate, its not always the camera thats important due to the perfect picture being slightly reduced on the net or being imposible to tell between 2 or 3 cameras. But was is important is whats infront of the camera, plus the whos shooting with the camera.

Make a choice, try to get as much on the camera as possible, if you can get progressive & interlaced scan then do, 1080 and not messing about with 720 or less. & the audio could be important as Carder also has said.

Just go for it & most of all enjoy filming with it!

As always, I really appreciate your thoughts.
I am going to get a Z1 or something very similar as soon as I can.
I have a (small) amount of cash to get going so I am hoping to at least get the whole thing up and running by the end of the year. I'll build it slowly and see how it goes
