I don't see the problem. If someone makes an offer to a contractor, they can either negotiate or refuse. Times are hard and producers should be looking to reduce costs if they wish to remain in business.

What one person is willing to work for may not meet someone else's minimum rates. Males get paid less. Jenna Jameson can (or could) command more for a scene than another pornstar for example. There's no scale rate in this industry.

People are always saying porn is a business and performers are professionals just doing a job. If it's simply just a business like any other, then people are always going to be seeking flexible costs. Producers looking to pay less and performers looking to earn more.

Unless there's a union, this thing is always going to go on. If someone doesn't like what money's offered, then they can choose to decline that offer of work, it's pretty simple.

They only grey area is when someone is trying to take advantage of someone who's new and naive. But the onus is on the newcomer to not be naive, people shouldn't go into porn on a whim, they should research and know what they are getting into.

You make a fair point, but the bottom line is a lot of these 'chancers' can be very rude to the girls when they decline the 'piss take' offer. Some have even been very insulting about it making personal comments about the girls appearance. Some of the girls (not all) I have worked with, have low self esteem and this can be very damaging to their confidence.
Personally if I ever come across, face to face any of these rude motherfuckers being rude to any of my new models I will make them very sorry!

Ive even told a couple guys to their face in the past with their attitudes to the girls that maybe they shouldnt take up a career in the adult industry if thats what they think about women.

As if Im supposed to be impressed with their gangsta swagger.

It pisses me off because some of these models happen to be my friends too if people are wondering why I get on my high horse about issues and another reason (if people are examining my motives) why I care about the health issue.

Call it what you like mp3, but the bottom line is this. Yes you can make an offer to the model which is below what it should be, BUT if you're rude and personally abusive to the girl for turning the offer down, and if the model was a friend of mine, then yes I'd treat that person the same as if he'd said the same thing to me! You can work the rest out for you're self! Manners cost nothing!
