Minimum Industry Rates

Talk about co-incidence Miss Dee I wanted to come on with a response to this post after doing my highest paid shoot to date & no money exchanged hands :d I've been given something priceless.
A lot of the stuff I've done recently has been for new people in fact, 1st timers & not 1 single 1 has had an issue with my rates or paying my travel.

After today I know I'm worth more than I've been charging but I don't want to lose out on working with new people to the busness.

I got asked about discounts & if people want one I give them but only when I'm offered something that makes it worth my while.

Wow its really come to something when performers are charging less than the price of escorts for doing more than an escort is willing to do.

Escorts may be pissed off that performers are stealing business from them.

I heard that from a producer new to the business who fels its more worth their while doing porn because at least hey can shag the girls for cheaper and get their money back too from Adult Work and Clips 4 Sale...(these types rarely bother with getting a website set up)

On the escort front I know girls that won't do porn for the very reasons you mention. In fact They charge extra to be filmed or have pictures taken. I'll give you an example, My Friends Nikki & Leah charge ?300 an hour for protected sex each they charge ?700 an hour for a GG & then if a guy wants to take pictures for own personal use he has pay an additional ?100.

Ok I'm going get myself in trouble but here but it's not only piracy the industry has to worry about but the fact that there seems to be some that are intent on doing everything they can to push real talent further & further away from making porn & people just aren't intrested in seeing the one's taking their place. The most important thing in porn is the Stars.

Actually its the customer. But they were shit on and forgotten about long ago, which is one of the reasons why the money went away.

In the absence of a union for performers and a Producers association with whom to negotiate terms there can be no "Industry" minimum.
Rates will therefore always be an individual negotiationon the day. Models will state their requirements and producers will state theirs and hopefully there will be common ground. Nobody thinks they are paid enough for what they do so there will always be some disappointment.
So for performers they should decide their own minimums and if they cant get it move on, there are other careers.

It was discussed and decided as a guide. its not mandatory as I'll be quick to repsond in saying that producers have no power whatsoever over the industry as it is a voluntary thing.

It ca only be mandated if every producer was on board to make it happen but it seems people favour chaos so they can go about their own business the way they see fit which is why the idea of any association is met with resistance.

A performers association would require someone who is dedicated to it and those dedicated to supporting it. The reason it wont work is because too many models think nothing effects them as long as they get work.

That and the business is too transient for the community at large to care. It seems the only people that have expressed any interest or initiative or support is the core group of career models and similar minded producers.

The industry is still too fragemented to work efficiently so hence there will be no pay increases and models who demand it may find themselves politely being refused in favour of those working for lesser rates.

Thats what happens in a business that is largely self regulated.

Even the working girls (escorts) have a union whereas the porn industry fight to much for power rather than whats good for each other, a minimum industry rate would ruin it for the amateur to medium class producer but yet again it could backfire on everyone if the new girls try to undercut the going rate by going cheaper.
This is a can of worms that no would chance by trying to make it law so to speak, we have found girls will work for various rates including me if you need the money & with work thin on the ground already would it be wise to change things.

I hear what you are saying Kim but I htink a minimum rate should work. if girls go lower than that then that should be between them and the producer but a benchmark at least.

The problem I found over the years is that a rank amateur newbie model expects to get the same as Jenna Jameson because.."well what has she got that I havent?" or because some desperate soul gagging to see her naked, shaking while holding the camera paid her over the odds (?37k by one thread on here) so therefore so should you...I'd be like..ha ha ha...Call me when you really want to do this luv....laters
