Love the statement on GlamourFinder which I quote below

'GF has got out of balance in recent times with the kinds of new models signing up being increasingly in the mature, BBW, and other categories, beyond what most would consider 'mainstream glamour'. Although these are all very popular niches, again it's been a reason for mainstream glamour models cancelling. We have put in a check on this for now on the Sign up page, see here. Existing models remain unnaffected. We make no apology for having restrictions as this is common among modelling sites.

Existing models at GF that would not meet the approval policy for new models remain welcome to continue. GF continues to be amateur-freindly too.'

So how many 'mainstream glamou'r models cancelled because of 'mature, BBW' models? Doesn't sound very truthful to me. Is it common amongst other modelling sites to not allow mature or BBW models?

Perhaps they messed about with the format too much and pissed off too many users? Its a shame as until then, never had a problem with ,always found it usefull and the guys in admin were great..friendly,efficient......... Now everybody pile over to AIR !wink!

It would seem reasonable that a 'normal' young pretty girl looking to find nude/adult modelling work, would bypass a site stuffed with niche market models, as the work opportunities would be limited.

Just as the decent models have abandoned sites like net-model, which is just full of TFP tossers and group shooters who want everything for free, the opportunities for finding the work they're seeking are better served elsewhere.

So it would seem if the site did want to reclaim its 'normal' models, it would have to constrain the amount of niche market girls there in order to restore some balance.

Should I levy a LATE fee on all the people who now head over from GF

I see both views here ,each having merit but the bit that perplexes me is- as they WERE running a biz,quite successfully,why post something like that when surely they could set up a different catagory (bbw,goth,whatever)and move girls over to it? they retain everyones goodwill and without alienating models or togs? Seems a strange way of doing business... ?

First of all good luck Paul with the influx,be interesting how many you get.Whilst not its biggest fan I have to agree with Sarah on most of her views.I also think its not good for the Industry when there is one less outlet for both models and togs,although it says it will come back in a revamped version,whatever form that will take.

What happened to the site re-write?

From GF:

The site re-write was originally intended to be an upgrade to GF, but all options were kept open (see News 27/11/09).

It's been decided that the site re-write will emerge as a completely new, much smaller, and different kind of modelling site to be launched after GF has closed down.

The new site will be called ModelGem which GlamourFinder will redirect to. Unlike in the case of GF I am developing all the code for the ModelGem site which will offer its own small niche among all the other modelling sites on the Web, and hopefully a welcome one.

It will have a different profile structure and different standards for content. It will be too different to what GF has traditionally been about (being all things to all people), hence the fresh start. ModelGem will be aimed at the higher end in mainstream glamour modelling and photography. Some former members will be invited where I find old profiles from backups that might look suitable for the time consuming process of manual conversion to the new formats. I'm not looking at that now, so please register at AIR (or other sites) as suggested.
