"I'm a bit concerned about the casual way it's sometimes offered"

Slightly amusing topic, I must be shooting in different circles, in 7 years and 250 models I can honestly say that I've never been offered extras (though one model did make some cheese on toast for me once).

As long as levels are detailed at the booking stage there should be no blurred lines, whatever level they work up to.

Might be the fact I'm a male munter but I really don't think this happens as you imagine, if anything I reckon it's more models being asked for extras rather than models offerring.

Either way I wouldn't work yourself up about it, main thing is they do the job you've booked em for.

Thats a very good point Simon, on my first shoot with HollyXX, she gave me a nice moist piece of lemon cake..... and 3 cups of tea :)
As for interaction, I wouldn't go in for that. I wrote about earlier on but I think it is fine as long as it is all discussed before hand and everyone knows what is going on.
Take it easy people, be good.

What exactly do you mean? Got any examples?

I think you worry too much. If it gets offered (highly unlikely) and you don't want it just say no.

If you're sure..... ;-)

I do think there is "a line" between modelling and prostitution. "Interaction" with amateurs/off camera interaction etc makes the line very "blurred."

Hi Paul

You mention interaction with 'amateurs' as though the 'modelling and prostitution' comment was meant for them...with as many Pro models also escorting & offering extras on the side it should be rephrased 'models'.

Over the years i have accepted anything goes in the industry amongst consenting adult & no line really exists between the various subjects.
John will refuse any interaction / extra fun with models he is shooting because he is polite & thats his style but guys are only human, if its offered & the girl is not asking for more money it would be a sexual favour.

A film maker will get into his comfort zone & the longer he goes on he will know how to refuse sexual favours in a friendly manner if he wants to, John gets so focused on his film & photos that it just becomes bodies, angles & lighting, time recorded etc that sex is the last thing on his mind.

I have done "photographer interaction". But the following applies.

1) The model sets the rates.

2) I only book models who work up to that level, and who want to work with me (most important!!).

3) The model sets the conditions/ boundaries. No means no!

4) Rates and details are confirmed in an email. No written confirmation no shoot.

And yes I am an amateur photographer, no I don't do to "shag a pornstar" in fact I have never done a shoot like this with a pornstar. And I've never been offered extras.

I can also supply, and offer to supply references. At the end of the day it's as been said before what goes on between two consenting adults.
