I was asked recently to help a guy who usually does POV. He wanted a cameraman to give an extra depth to his work and I was happy to do it as it's all good practice right?
It was all cool and going well and about halfway through he asked me if I would come over and use my fingers on the model. I politely declined and then he asked if I would use a toy as that wasn't touching....

Two points.

1. I made a deal with Mrs P that I would not EVER cross the line from behind my lens. That is the deal in order for me to produce porn (which is something I have always wanted to do) and it keeps her happy in the knowledge that I am not being a naughty boy while I am out. This is just how we play it.

2. This was never discussed beforehand with either myself, or the model in question and even if it had, I must refer you back to point 1. As it turns out, I caught a look on the models face as the offer was made and I could see she was uncomfortable with the idea but didn't seem to want to say anything. There is a lesson to be learned there I think ladies....

3. I am utterly certain that I have a clean bill of health however that is not the point is it? If I was to have a cut on my finger for example from biting my nails or whatever, I could have given the poor girl anything that I might have unbeknownst to me.

Now, I'm not prudish (how could I be?) and I have no problem with interaction between tog and model (it's just not for me). I just think that it would be vital for it to be discussed beforehand and that all participants have the requisite health certification in place before the shoot.

Anyway, that is my opinion for what it is worth, take it or leave it :)
Take care guys, be good :)

HiBigmatty,

Agree with you - Basically it comes down to what is agreed beforehand

If you book a model/performer and say there will be interaction with you(pov etc) then you are not only a photographer/producer (whatever) but you are also at that point a performer and therefore you will need to show that you are 'clean' i.e certed as well.

Lets not beat about the bush - there are lots of guys (some girls) out there who will 'advertise' a shoot under some weird and wonderful description - but at the end of the day want to basically 'shag a pornstar' and get thier kicks, Nothing wrong with that if the model/performer is willing - but if your going to do it - be as professional as you can and respect who you are working with, you need to be certed to play , the boundaries of what is and what isn't acceptable to the other performers has to be clearly defined and all fees.releases etc etc etc all agreed in advance.

IMO the days of turning up for a shoot and then having the attitude of 'lets play it by ear' have long since passed by.

I'm still learning the trade, I'm taking my time and trying to do things the right way (remembring to take the lens cap off is a good one)- But all in all I reckon my place is behind the camera and not in front of it - being married to an adult actress, I am regulary tested myself , I dont ask for certs as such as I don't perform (not my bits that i have a problem with, but i'm no Brad pitt etc and wouldnt want to put anybody off thier dinner .lol).

If your filming , then film and keep your hands on the shutter button
if your performing ..........................keep your hands off the camera !grin!
and IMO dont mix the 2.

There are two kinds of pov here... a ) a pro, certed performer who shoots his own and b) camera guy after "interaction" who when asked if he has valid ,up to date Certs says"but its only bj".... I"ve been EVER so lucky/fortunate as i have never undertaken a job and its not been what i expected..then again,im quite happy to ask a load of annoying questions so i know whats expected of me,i can do the work and theres no misunderstandings or "surprises",that are potentially shoot ruining...the funny thing is,the professional guys and guys with a professional attitude I have worked with have NEVER minded this ..

Always certed, works to Hard BG/GG/ANAL/DP+EXTREME Fetish.
Easy going,fun,Hard Working,Professional
I turn up prepared,on time, ready to shoot what you want as I`m RELIABLE! ;)
