The last research I did there's little difference between Nikons and Canons. I use Nikon with no problems so far.

For starter camera i would say try the nikkon D3000

great price and great results

i use 2 my self one D300s as my main camera and i got the D3000 as extra


Nikon's to be are the best used them for many years and fab results for SLR
the lens are sharp aswell and with the D3000 if your new to SLR camera they have guide system built in and very user friendly.

I mean, if you can shoot that quality, and edit it on the phone, in HD...
