Why are "Looking for models" topics so vague?

I had not thought about the issues raised later when I replied. However I agree with Paul Jones about saying what the job entails and location.

There is no point in discussing a job in Slough if you live in Glasgow etc.

I suspect the deal to be done is to get the model to work cheap.

As for people ripping others to death, why and so what. A reply of "This is what I pay, take it or leave it" is all that's needed. Assuming someone doesn't want people to work all day for ?50 or do a BG for ?50.

Depends if they're looking for one person to do one shoot or are in the business of continually shooting content. When I was shooting I was in the business of shooting as much as I could so long as it was good. Dropping one person in favor of another to save a few quid is unprofessional IMO.

The deciding factor should be the quality of the shoot. Assuming prices aren't ridiculous.

Yes I agree, every shooter should have a fixed price for what they pay and only adjust it if the model is exceptional. If the model is below standard, the shoot doesn't happen.

For instance I would expect Frankthing who shoots for Private to pay more than Oneeyedjack. Because the work is very different. Also in my experience many new girls beat pros into a cocked hat for performance and viewer appeal.

In general models have to be flexible. A BG shoot for me would take an hour usually. For Private it can take all day. One is a lot of fun and just fucking to have fun, the other is stop start and grinds on. LOL


Over all I think it's unprofessional and gives potential models a bad impression. Girl come into this job to earn money, they stay in it to earn money. No matter how much they enjoy it the money is the deciding factor. Not showing the rate and negotiating by email is amateur and I will bet it will lead to many no shows. Saying yes by email and then thinking it through will lead to a change of mind. And no email to say so.

I give all details except rates. One thing I alway state is my location as SELondon, but out of 90% of model replies I've always had as the model has never stated her location, but she'll put her rate not including travel! So hence I have to email and ask, this also applies to supllying a photo, something else I always ask for in a reply to my advert yet probably only 10% do this. As I put it, it's like buying a car without knowing what or where it is.
But one model recently I've asked 2 times for her location and she's still never told me in her replies, now I won't answer her emails.*

Also I reply to every email I ever receive, even if I have a model for the shoot.
*except if they can't answer a simple question.
