Advertising for models.

Sorry if the title seems a bit vague. For those of you who do photography and to some extent models, have you ever advertised in newsagents or shops. I'm don't mean the big supermarket chains just the little corner shops. If you have did you have any success or was it mainly timewasters?

I'm looking to try to photograph new faces for a couple of projects in the New Year, and ideally would like ladies/models local to me. I've tried Gumtree again but can't even get my ad accepted!!

Also try Vivastreet & Friday ads which will accept your ad if you don't make it to raunchy, as for the sweet shop windows we advertise for ladies & couples 40+ but again watch the wording, see example below.

"female / couples 40 years plus wanted for film / photo work for the internet & DVD, please note this is adult themed work"

Put the ads in areas where you get best coverage e.g. large council estates, industrial, shopping centres, local to hospitals etc.

We have these in shops in Clacton & Colchester & do get some interested people enquiring as well as lots of guys wanting to see or be in the films etc.

The sites mentioned above get more response than the window ads but if you are lucky enough to live in a city & not a rural place like us it would be a lot better, good luck on your new venture.

Thanks for the advice Kim. There are a couple of large council estates near to me that I am thinking of advertising in. I have no end of problems with Vivastreet even though I changed the ad i.e models required as opposed to female models.

Basically I'm looking for 1 or 2 ladies who would like do or try modelling so if I have a spare hour or two I can just give them a call. A sort of muse. It's all paid work. I personally don't like TFCD I don't consider my images good enough.

we did it in local newagents and corner shops etc and got some very good feedback and amateurs to do shoots..

A photograper local to me advertised in local shops around the area for models or ladies that want to try modeling.
the photographer had only shot landscape before and wanted explore new horizons.
obviousley i contacted him and he shot his first adult content.
But he did say a few people that contatced him was a waste of time.
Its worth a try even if you only get a few people contact you it may be worth while x
