This is a business and there are many angles that you need to consider - loads. to come out into a forum with some negativity and vivious discusssions only serves to muddy the waters. decorum and positive comments - dont get personal and dont take it as a slight. Its a fun industry to be in.

Wow I forgot about this thread... look what I started now !

In fairness in general those we've worked with I have been pleased with, there have only a couple who have been disapointments... sneaked under the radar so to speak... used that one image that makes them look amazing (or highlights the skills of the tog who took it) and then I wonder why none of my pics look the same...

But this industry does make me roar, when I have 53 year olds approach me for a casting that clearly says 18-23, and they are telling me they can still pull off that "teen look" well I guess it is coming up to Halloween I guess...

Girls who have fake boobs and tell me they look real... hmmmm yeah right, real scars as well... with one boob pointing north and one pointing east... with nipples that look like they have had a falling out...

And girls being posted as the next hot thing, yes if the next hot thing is a smokin turd, I really think the togs must tell them they are beautiful/sexy just to get laid... I mean most of these girls their own mums wouldnt tell them they are pretty...

I guess I have just been lucky and spoilt by those I have worked with... anyways sorry I started a argument... in this industry we should feel the love, just make sure it's felt through a condom !

It's not criticism I have any issues with, it's the way it's done. It's just a shame that you didn't feel you could be open with me BM, so I could have offered a resolution.
But never mind- that's life.

After all this, what truth have we found out that we didn't know or talked about on here already.

Criticisms about awards systems are fine but Ive found until you get in the mix so to speak do you understand why things are the way they are.

All awards systems whether it be the Oscars, Venus in Berlin, TVX or UKAP or any other award system you ca mention all cater to those within their group

I understand and have seen first hand what happens when awards are given to candidates that aren't involved. They dont get picked up and makes the organisers look like they've shunned the event so whats the point of facilitating awards to people who are not part of something when it looks like they don't care for it anyway.

As the saying goes: You got to be in it to win it.

You ain't gonna win the lottery if you don't play the game right?

If people don't care for awards it doesn't make them look good by complaining about how its run whether its the truth or not.

Fair play to UKAP though for sending the message out for all those wanting to submit material. The awards is not confined to members of that association

They can only judge on whats been submitted whether it is deserving or not is subjective. If only amateurs submit product and no professionals did then whoever wins is going to reflect that.

That's the truth as I see it.

If people dont like a certain awards system that strongly there is nothing stopping anyone from creating their own but there have been glossy shows at the Troxy for a couple years running and one before that and I don't see any difference in how that was done to any other awards system

In fact the last awards at the Troxy hardly anyone came to collect their trophies because they werent there.

So much for supporting something the organisers took time to put on
