Not sure this is the right place but i see plenty of friends and webmasters frequent this forum and may have had a similar experience. So any tips will be most welcome.

Scenario: Model shoots content month by month and we purchase on the basis of her name and the value that name carried.

Model then after taking a considerable amount of money decides to change her modelling name and set up another website in that new name in direct competition so making the original purchases worthless.

I have my own ideas how to deal with this but wondered if any of you had a similar experience and dealt with it.

Too many variables and unknowns for anon to give an absolute answer, but unless she was contracted to you under those terms, (which would be dubious anyway) there's not a lot you could do legally.

But you could book a domain name that uses her current name and reposition the content you have. Std model releases allow to use material in any way you like. So provided there wasn't any restrictive clauses, fire away.

She might sue but any lawyer will probably tell her what my top line tells you

The very answer i was looking for, i already own the original site and have bought the dot net version domain name of her new one and intend to run all the same material through that one renamed and hit top google rank for the new name before her new site launches. Just needed a legal slant as i have all release documents.

The builder of the new site is in our midst and knows full well what he is assisting. He even supplied her with a legal letter to cut and past to me. And she is on AIR as well.

Taken me 9 years and 300 models to find this one LOL

Dont want to name her that would be asking for trouble but one of my sites models has changed her name twice in 3 months straight after getting paid.

Look up the definition of Plagiarism and your Intellectual property rights you will find your answers there. If the model has been employed to act in character of your creation and signed model release / copyright to you she can't go off and then replicate the role. What else she does in her own rights in name and style you have no control over.

Use her old name AKA her new one on the site you made & spam everywhere her webmaster does, he will after a while get fed up but thats his problem.
If it has cost you a lot of money then re-coupe some of it through DVD sales, sell her footage & pictures (non exclusively) to other web-masters & finally make the old site /membership a lot cheaper than her new one & when you have your money back use the footage on a site containing various girls until the year dot.
To many people do this & forget the layout costs & time to make someone a internet star, if you do this again make sure you contract them to you for a time period.

I get the feeling you know who we are talking about. I will be following your idea to the letter.

I had this in mind but needed to hear the opinions of friends and those with more experience before i went ahead with it.

I am putting on my tin hat now as i expect there will be some fall out.
