Jim has organised the PLUS SHOW as an alternative/competitor to Erotica..
HE has done something UNIQUE in Britporn -AND - organised an awards ceremonly. This is a fucking FIRST. What support does he get? Little.
When I have conducted my silly little polls in the past, I have received about 15 replies. Jim has had about the same.
Where are all the "posters" who pop-up from time to time and say "I'm a first-timer" or "I do not post often" I'm a MAG Editor,or indeed, all those others out there who look/see but never comment?

Why not mail him directly with your vote,( or if you prefer, send it to the Mods of this site, assuming your are not utterly cynical)you have nothing to lose and will not be ashamed to name your favourite (although why that should be a problem is beyond me, since no-one cares anyway)
Jim has no axe-to-grind. Trust him. He aint gonna rig the vote -he already lives with Violet!

ad use this great resource speaks volumes for all the wrong reasons to me
Think it just proves that if you treat punters like idiots they will respond
ie pick all the answers and ask them to pick which one with and a to z poll response

It is only actually in the last few weeks (perhaps as few as TWO) that the "awards" aspect of Phil's/Jim's PLUS show has become an issue...
And I have to say, I only heard about the PLUS show in its entirety about a week or so before that... i.e. about a month ago.
With the absolute MAXIMUM of respect to Jim, I do think that perhaps the problem lies with the seemingly hurried nature that this is being put together... I don't doubt that Jim has been many months in the planning etc. but I think the individual issue of the "Brit-girl" award has come about rather suddenly.
If you recall the discussion a couple of weeks ago about a brit-rival to the AVN awards - I think we might have the MAKINGS of it here...
I think the important point is not to get irate, upset or angry at the lack of response... this is, as you say, UNIQUE. This is, if we want it to be and Jim lets us use it as such, that "small acorn" I talked about...
I'm more than willing to offer my support and assistance - not just a vote. I think it is a fantastic concept and needs to be widely embraced. It also needs sustained, innovative and effective PR & plugging - this should be a year round matter - not just in the run up to the event - though of course - the preceding moth or two see an increase in activity.
But Marcus, please don't see this as a lack of interest.... What is really required in the future is; a) initially nominations (3 months before) b) the "board" sift the nominations and agree on a shortlist of say 8-12 names, c) Shortlist is published asap and people then cast their vote via web poll, email or post..
The adinistering of the award has been "off the cuff" - the response is to be expected and allowances made.
Phil/Jim - if I can be of assistance in next years event or anything similar, please feel free to email me.
Now having said all of this, I am afraid I am unable to make the show... I am on duty this weekend and as I only found out about it at short notice (and a month is pretty much short notice for getting leave in my job), I'm unable to get the time off.... otherwise I'd be there - especially as its a golden opportunity to get myelf down to my favourite swingers party "Skinnydippers"!

As I write, that thread's received 81 responses - so I'm not quite sure where the figure of 15 comes from.
This is separate from any responses which may have been received by email already, and is by any reckoning a significant response.
I for one have already made my 'vote' clear by adding to that thread, believing that to be a valid way of 'voting'.
Are you saying that all the 'votes' cast in this way are not therefore valid? Do we HAVE to vote by email?
