I'm sorry to say that www.sexclub.co.uk ( Paul Raymond mags) are pretty much the worst rip-off merchants I have found on the web to date.

Their site is very cumbersome - and if you want to cancel, you have to phone them up sometime through the day.

Most of us are at work then and can't phone - but I will make sure I do, from a callbox if necessary.

Today it is unacceptable for sign-ups to be Ok on the web, but cancellations not to be. A company as rich as Paul Raymond Procductions should be very aware of this and their actions (or lack of) put them in the same category as South Korean spam sites.

A poor lady called Dawn Cannon has been sent out to defend this indefensible policy. If nothing else, please don't join www.sexclub.co.uk until it has entered the 21st Century - with saveable photos, quick loading and on-line cancellation.

To be honest, it looks like the terrible (multi-millionaire - bastard) Dave Sullivan has taken over the site.

FWIW I agree there are short comings with the site
When they finally get all the back issues(500+) updated with reasonable sized pics and all the sets present rather than a few choice selections
I'd happily join again(these are the downloadable ones)

Then theres the video side?

The review 3/7/2001 at highlights many of these but still gives the site 86/100

Well, well Richard B. Yet again we see the power of one person on a forum to bad mouth a company and try and do them down. With very little cause.

Clearly, you've had a bad experience with the sales people who manage our site for us. That hardly constitutes a "rip off", as Buttsie pointed out. If there are clear problems with the site, then contact the webmasters and let them know. You'd be surprised how quickly these things can be actioned.

Frankly, given the amount of work the editorial teams do on each of their mags on-line, I'm fairly hacked off with your attack. We put LOADS of material up onto www.sexclub.co.uk each month in both the standard magazine sections and the newer, stronger 'X' sites (www.sexclub.co.uk/mensworldx and www.sexclub.co.uk/mayfairx for example). There are now over 1000 videos to view on Sexclub, and massive stills archives from all of your (well, other people's) favourite top shelf mags.

If you have a problem with the payment system, bring it up at the source, don't badmouth the rest of the site. The people putting it together (editors and deputies) don't receive any extra reward for doing it and have to juggle it around our main responsibilities: the magazines.

Rob Swift has now moved from editing Club International to head up our in-house New Media department, and he'll be working far more closely with the people responsible for all the elements of our site. Hopefully, small problems like this will be ironed out fairly quickly, but to rubbish an entire site based on one payment problem? What's next? "I bought a tape from Your Choice and it didn't rewind as quickly as a Scotch 180 I bought the same day"?!

I agree with your defence of Sexclub - whilst a long time ago the pictures were very low quality, now they're great, and the price is very good.

But it is a *real* liability that, unlike every other site on the internet, you
can't cancel your subscription online, and have to make an embarrassing phone call.

Surely it wouldn't be difficult to get an online cancelation system implemented?

I take the point, but I've never had a big problem making that kind of call. My real problem was in the total rubbishing of a site on the basis of one, tiny item. And given the sheer quantity of high quality material across Sexclub, I think the defence was necessary!

I will, however, raise the complaint with the parties involved. And thanks for the support.

I joined for a couple of months to see certain back issue.

Frankly the awful jazzy front page put me off for a while - it looks too much like spam sites with so many flashing windows. But then I took the plunge.

It took a bit of getting used to. Getting around the site is not as easy as it could be but once I got the hang of it I found it a good site with plenty there and everything if not more than I joined to seek out.

When it was time to leave there was the phone call; not a good idea - online cancellation is a must.

The girl I spoke gave me quite a hard sell trying to dissuade me from cancelling. But when I was insistant she said 'all right then I will let you cancel.' Not impressive.

I would say simplify the front page and have on line cancellation. The content is certainly good. Where else can you get so many back numbers for a tenner? I like the harder unpublished pics too. It was to see those that made me take the plunge!

I agree with the Phone call cancellation, its the only one i have come across that has this. Its far more less embarrassing and you don't get some nice young lady offering you extra insentives to stay on for an Xtra 3/6 months just to get free access to something else.

I also agree with Belmondo the early pictures are poor quailty any chance of
a re-scan so we can actually see the Picture better?

Why would you be embarrased to make such a phone call?

I have come across this before. For example I have no problem phoning Your Choice and ordering videos but I know a few people who are terrified by the idea and will only order online. Thats just stupid bearing in mind that the person on the other end of the phone is hardly likely to be judgemental bearing in mind they rely on you to pay their wages. And apart from that the telephone staff can often help you choose between titles and they are freindly and helpfull.

I agree you shouldn't be embarrassed, but in the real world some people are. Perhaps I'm a cynical bastard?????? Is the phone call free? If not, why do I also need to pay for a phone call to cancel. Are you kep't hanging on the line? What if you don't live in the UK. You have to call in the middle of the night to cancel! You can't even cancel at the weekends!!!!! Like I said. I suppose I'm just a cynical bastard. I suppose this is a perfect example of checking the terms and conditions before you join!!!!!!
