Windows Messenger is a feature in Microsoft which spammers
are now using to hit you with more crap.
To switch Messenger off completely, go to Control Panel.
Select Administrative Tools
Select Services
Scroll down and you will see Messenger listed.
RIght click on Messenger and select Properties.
Hit STOP to stop it. Also make sure Startup Type is on Manual
and not Automatic so it won't come back on after you reboot.
