...and have been saying on here how much they wanted a well-lit well-shot non-anal-obssessed Brit-led feature, I thoroughly recommend Private's "The Scottish Loveknot". Not the cheapest of features - ?29.99 in Soho, but you can haggle them down to ?25 (it does come on two CDs with elaborate packaging), it is a nicely shot film with lots of outdoor scenes - I guess the Scottish highlands are sparse enough that the BBFC don't worry about outdoor scenes being overlooked by the public - and anal is thankfully thrown in as an afterthought rather than the raison d'etre. There's excellent production values, and a load of British talent. Though Aussie Jodie Moore takes the lead, Brits Jamie Woods and Michelle Louise get a look in, and as far as I can tell *all* the male performers are British. The period clothing nonsense is given admirably short shrift (they get naked fast) and there is none of the B&W cut frames or fetish crap that has blighted other recent Private films. Thorough recommended to those who share my tiredness with gonzo.
