you have some interesting experiences to relate! it's just a shame you choose to introduce yourself to the forum, by abusing some of its regular contributors. if you're points are well made, they will carry the day! there's no need to denigrate the opinions of others on a personal level.

Thanks for your comments. I don't think I abused anyone but Mr puzzled certainly got enough abuse hurled at him for merely voicing a legitimate concern. What surprised me was the totally illiberal attitude shown him from people who are supposed to be liberal. A final point - the law is not changing, there have been no acts passed to change anything. All that's changing is that the courts can't get convictions with a Jury. This is why this govt is trying to end the automatic right of any citizen to a trial by Jury - a magitrate is much more reliable. The law is still there on the books & if the public mood swings to the right then we're back were we started. Wait & see what happens when the 'Internet snooping act' is passed. If you think that encryption will get round that it won't as there's an automatic 3 year prison sentence if you do not give the police your code. Believe me Stalin would be proud of this lot.
