Closing Threads

Is it just me, or does it seem that as soon as a discussion starts to get juicy, the webmasters close the thread?

If they're not doing that then they are declaring subsection breaches of their FAQ like it's the American Constitution. (*Webmasters note, here is a potential ironic snipe: you could cut out this message and replace it with the relevant section I am breaching for writing this!)

I'm all for them applying these rules where necessary but they do seem to be rather arbitrary. I've seen PLENTY of messages that break those rules but don't get kicked off because they didn't seem to personally bait the webmasters.

What's wrong with a damn good discussion, no matter how long it lasts? If it gets boring then I'm sure people will stop contributing and it will just drift down the board. Can't WE be the judge of when a thread should be closed? Otherwise, that's censorship, and on a porn forum that smacks of hypocrisy.

And furthermore, exactly how do I apply for a particular amendment to a certain rule? I mean if we can't vote for either you or your rules then surely that makes this board totalitarian, and you are a bunch of fascists?

At the end of the day, Alec, Phil and Woody DO know when enough IS enough, and I have had several posts deleted, so I am not being biased. Its NOT a case of 'Its MY/OUR forum, I'll do what I/WE want'
