This maybe slightly O/T to some but I believe the information from others will help to inform.
I am shooting and editing and authoring for DVD, two scenes for a friend.
She has been in contact with an independant film company (they are legit) who want to do some filming of her.
Now they are paying her a derisory fee for this but they asked if they could film me, filming her (and the two studs).
I have said perhaps but are they offering a fee, which they are not.
Question: Would you demand a fee, and if so, how much.
A brief reply would suffice....
Being paid to film !!
Re: Being paid to film !!
Which do you want more, getting the back of your head on TV, or getting paid for working?
One thing for sure, they'll be making money out of it, so why shouldn't you?

We have need of you again, great king.

That might be true for the major broadcasters; but contrary to popular belief there isn?t that much money in 'indie' television. Just ask any runner who?s worked a 14hr day for less money than s/he would get in McDonalds!
It sounds like this company is trying to make a ?pilot? to get a commission. They incur all the costs to make the programme ? filming & editing ? in the hope they?ll get picked up to do a series of programmes.
You could ask for expenses and most companies will pay a ?nominal? fee. You just have to make the decision if you really want to be broadcast on television. After all, once you sign the ?consent and release? they?re free to sell the footage in any medium i.e. internet, clip shows, etc.
If you want to ask any questions zipper ? drop me an e-mail.

They are a major independant company, with many broadcasts to their name, not some commissioning team with an idea to sell.

If it's a big independent then definately ask for money - these companies get big by pleading poverty to artists & crew they want to film and pocketing the money themselves and increasing their profit margin even more. TV money is there but as with everything in TV these days you have to haggle. If they really want you they'll find the money.

A glance at this forum, would indicate that many people involved in the visual media request the opportunity to cover the sex industry. This is usually motivated by the urge to get cheap footage of naked chicks, rather then any attempt to offer blinding insight into our shared sexual behaviour or the reasons people choose a career in the adult entertainment genre.
I?d charge them whatever I could get, at least ?150 an hour; which is probably less then the crew usually claims for lunch expenses.

Thanks all who replied.
I originally asked for a fee, and believe me it was no very much, about the same as someone doing g/g (an hour rate).
As the lady in question is doing this for publicity, I am now getting trapped into being seen as a bit of a skinflint asking for the dosh, even though I know myself what the rates will be to film on a Sunday for the crew.
I will call my fee "expenses" and do it that way.
Again, thanks to all.
