Im using Microsoft explorer[windows xp] and I have the latest version of java installed.

I mean what do you view webpages with, Internet Explorer I presume but which version, 5, 6 or 7?

Right:

Start > Control Panel > Add or remove Programs

Uninstall anything that is Java.

Go here

Download Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 (Choose the offline installation for windows)

Double click install and use cutom setup. Make sure all items are checked.

If still no joy, go to Start > All Programs > accessories > Comand Prompt

Type:

java -version

Post what it says on this thread.

I did what you said and it still won't work,here it what it said on command prompt: Java Version "1.6.0"
java version SE Runtime Environment
java Hotspot Client VM

OK, we're getting closer. You have the right Java installed and it is set as the default.

Now we have to look at a few options in IE7 and with security.

So first question - are you using any Norton Products (firewall, anti-virus etc.)
