A very fine show indeed, with George Cole's performance and the wonderfully seedy dialogue just two of the highlights ("Authur Daley?" "Depends.")

I can understand some of the PC cuts done to the scripts for moderrn consumption, but it would be nice for modern audiences to understand that there was never any true racist intent. Minder was too jokey anyway, as was the stereotyping. It was all just part of the casual verbal shorthand reflective of the show's grimy social milieu, an acknowledgement that it existed, which is not the done thing these days.

Magoo / Nob3by - they've been available on DVD for yonks. I have the lot. You can buy either individual series box sets or Series 1 to 10 as a mega-box set.

sell the series box sets for like 16.49 to 17.49 each (free UK postage).

Ask me if you can find 'em on eBay as well, and (as Arthur might say) it would be less than candid of me if I did not respond in the affirmative.

And (as far as I can tell) the DVD versions are all uncut - at any rate a lot of scenes & dialogue that were cut from the UK Gold / Men & Motors versions is there.

These days I watch very little stuff like this on TV: too much touchy-feely editing and a 5-minute ad break every 10 minutes. Fuck that.

Don't mention the VATman, Terry. Makes me come over all perculiar. Brings me out in a rash.

No - stand on me Mr. Chisholm - said prices are inclusive of all sundries if the punter is resident on this septic isle. Can't say fairer than that.

You can rent them from Love Film Magoo. I've got the entire series on standby rental.

Racist stereotyping never bothered me. It reflected the era. I do miss the 70's and 80's ...Oh and The Sweeney.

I remeber black..Oh sorry..coloured folk back in the day even having a good wheeze at Love Thy Neighbour.
