The thief in the Jury Service episode (my all time favourite) was 'Scouse' Billy.
In the same episode, juror John Bardon (EastEnders Jim Branning) said to a black juror about 'having to play the white man' that has been cut from modern broadcasts

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

Minder was a great series, great casting with Arthur and Terry, I think it used to be wednesday nights at 9.00.

To me the 1980's had more character and meaning in its TV shows.

To name a few more....

The Tube ......... ground breaking

Spitting image..............they would have a field day today with "ole one eye" and the white hair'd Darling

Only fools and horses...........excellent

the young ones...............leading new style

Add yours to the list.....

!thumbsup!

Great series. When I saw a re-run recently on one of the cable
channels I noticed bits had been cut out

Interestingly I caught a bit of rising damp (itv4) I think at 7 o'clock
the other night and it still seemed to contain the elements that the
pc brigade object to nowadays. Still funny and again with not only a
very good cast but some outstanding guest actors
