If you've got a mate with a laptop, then have him pop round and see if it's the same on his. It might not be the router, but your wireless receiver that's making your speeds low.

Afraid I know no one who has
From where I'm sitting just at the minute its working fine
I've got the new toy lets download/stream everything bug out of my system
Isn't it the great illusion that the top speed of any connection is more reliant on outside variables than its own?

XP service pack 2
1GB of Ram for vista is about the the minimum but even then its said you'll be crawling.2GB is about where you want to be,just make sure you don't pay through the nose for the upper eschelons of DDR2
I've read DDR2 667 is about as high as you need to go because of the limitations associated with the current FSB.Any higher and you get no benefit apart from the hole in your wallet
Its all greek to me but Computer Mags don't generally lie

Hi Mags, how's tricks fella? I hope you are well.
When it comes to you and Wazza, I like you both and give each of you the benefit of the doubt; thing is, this ain't a clash of personalities, it's a clash of online personas. If you were as persona in real life, you would be sectioned in the padded cells donning a man-nappy, and WZR would get fecking lynched, let's be honest, !wink! In real life you are probably two well affable guys who would get on like a house on fire.
However, if you are banging your fist at other posts, don't let it stress you and accept that the self-promotion of the WZR thing ain't arrogance, he's joshing and on the wind-up- that's why he came on with his 'am i welcome here' thread when he thought everyone was hating him for ACTUALLY thinking he is an unbearable delusional grandeurist. Thing is, I've noticed you get a bit defensive when other forumites are bantering! We love you too, and enjoy your mad patter.- there are no warring factions here, we all sing off the same hymn-sheet.
But posting about the current generation, saying X and Y lack wit compared to yesteryear and halcyon days of 2003 ( I joined 2005) gives out bitter vibes, maaaan! I like a laugh and regard some of my postings to be playful, cheeky, occasionally well sharp, but when you say 'Wazza and Co are dullards', I think: "Is he including me in that, mad twunt? I thought we got on!!" I think yourself, Jacques, Lizard and myself have very similar senses of humour, loving both the peurile and the surreal to the juvenile and plain daft. Carac, Wazza and Sam appreciate it all too, but like a good discussion too.
If you hanker for the good old days of late '02, you wont enjoy the forum that much! As for spontaneity, there are not enough regulars on at the same time to let rip, and go for rapid-fire patter- I love it, helps keep me sharp. If you want an inane banter thread, post a 'Wanna take part in magoo's banter-hour, 10.30pm?" You will get takers, including me-but don't take it personally if folk don't- probably got other things to do.
I think you should chill, fella, we value your contribution, and some of your pissed rants have been priceless. You seem to be mellowing, just try and enjoy. The old modicum applies: don't like the post or the poster, don't read. They can't annoy if you haven't read what they are harping on about: it is a question of choice, no-one forces you to read pish postings.
You take it easy me ol' pukka-mucka!

PS, where is cuckold Titspaz jj these days, he buggery-buggered off quick, ol' bum-lube buggerist humping the table leg to appease the Parsnip God of Urethral BLiss in his very secure hospice for people called jj! !confused!

Noprobs, Fudgey may have got wires crossed when one loses the author thru reading quick one-line posts.
I'm fine, was only posting wee observations- just viewpoint thing! Btw, what are you making of Boosh 3? It's great IMHO, missed ep 3 with Crack Fox! Great to see the Hitcher and the Spirit of Jazz as Jazz-virus, sent up Inner Space, punk- pity we can't crowbar Bob Fossil back into it, he's great! The Hitcher pissin in Howard Moon's face was tremendous... and the eel song, well dark! The Hitcher's finest moment was his rant in the Bear-van prior to Zoo to animal offenders, amazing.
I personally think the Hitcher, two parts Father Jack, and a sprinkling of Bill Hicks makes up magoo-rantage and are your idols! There's a definite undertone of Viz-homour and Chris Morris there too.

I always got on with him, seemed fine with me, didn't get the Olympian elitism treatment. He knows I'm a fellow fan of good hot DBM German flicks with the French hotties!
