A long-term foreign resident who knows the nation's psyche, the players, culture, level of expectation and who has banter-level dialect-aware grasp of the language would be ideal.

That's why Arsene Wenger is always touted, incredibly adept and gifted on all levels, and 'Special One' Jose of from the Mourinho's house down by at no. 25 not far off.
