Only a top-drawer English/ British manager who has top-level European/ international experience, or one who could be capable of easily acquiring such.

For me, that boils down to Bobby Robson or Roy Hodgson; capable, domestic British-born club managers?

That puts only either Sir Alex or Martin O'Neill into the mix.

That's your options, domestically.

Bobby Robson might be a little old man now, but, by Christ, he definitely has the charisma, motivation, energy and passion to sort them out good and proper.

Extremely astute, can spot a player and pick a team- his only difficulty is associating names with faces.

The Italians may like to forget that the country going to the European Championships in England's -so called- place is Russia....managed by a Dutchman.

Wanting a manager to be of the same Nationality is just plain outdated
Nothing more than flag waving nationalism

You want the best qualified Manager who has the runs on the board
and the smarts to succeed at international level when it counts

By sticking to your own you are limiting your potential to succeed

Australia ownly succeeded when it brought in another Nationality(dutch) with a pedigree(world cup)unmatched by anyone in the nation
