Trumpy,

Labour introduced the 10p tax rate. It was only ever temporary, until the tax credit system kicked in.

Now the general tax rate has been reduced from 22p to 20p; but some people are still out of pocket as a result of the loss of the 10p band....so the tax credit system will need a tweak.

I agree with you that the loss of the 10p rate without offsetting is unacceptable. But for many people, the offsetting is there.

Who can remember Chumbawamba's follow-up to Tubthumping?
It was called Amnesia and it was an ode to Nu Labour, a hit less than a year from them being elected
Prophetic really
Here are the lyrics....

Goodbye to the summer
Sold down the river
Unhappy ever after
Well did you ever?
Did you ever reach for the
Glued-down penny?
Same old joke and its not funny
Burns are red bruises blue
Out with the old cheated by the new

Do you suffer from long-term
Memory loss?
I dont remember...

You sing the same old verse
Stick like glue for better or worse
What goes around comes around
Again again again
This heart pulled apart
Hydra fighting head to head
Burns are red bruises blue
Out with the old cheated by the new

Do you suffer from long-term
Memory loss?
I dont remember...

Amnesia

Do you suffer from long-term
Memory loss?
I dont remember...

They're locking them up today, they're throwing away the key...I wonder who it be tomorrow, you or me?

Why? If I was against something as much as you claim you are I wouldn't be especially when it won't achieve anything.

I take it you've haven't read many of the "discussions" WZR and myself had !laugh!

Or is mention of WZR just another attempt to use another tag that often generates popular responses?

Agreed (ish) can't helping wondering why the NUTories with "Green" Dave's 'leadership' have jumped on them.

Does anyone understand how this actually works? Even officials at the Tax Office and Benefit/Job Centres are stumped.
