Well how about a Graame Garden reference with regard the Americans?
Burger-eating invasion monkeys.
Okay, the nation that gave us Voltaire, Hugo, Proust, Zola, Dumas pere et fils, Degas, Monet, Manet, Renoir (both the artist and the film-maker), Truffaut, Godard, Cocteau, and hundreds of others has no culture?
Aye. Right.

That works the same way if you'd ask the french
"Are the english whingeing po faced miserable cunts"
Stereotypes
All cultures & people pretty much think themselves superior
A human trait and not a good one i might add

I admire the French for their patriotism, they are quite good at letting Johnny Foreigner know HIS place in the pecking order. That has to be admired.
Decent at Rugby and Football, well, apart from the last Euro's.....haha
Cowards in WW2 though.........I MUST mention that!

You're almost spot on there Ace
Calling them "cowards in WW2", is going a bit far. The French army was pretty much non-existent in 1939 (plenty of men but little equipment and most of it out-dated), so when Hitler invaded there was little they could do... just like the Czechs, Poles, Dutch, Norwegians... need I go on? Britain was fortunate to have 20 odd miles of water to provide a barrier, otherwise we would have suffered the same fate. The "coward" was the Vichy government of Petain, who having fought in WW1 and seen so many young men die for nothing, believed he was doing the right thing in not fighting. The members of the French Resistance were brave, and many Frenchmen joined the various Free French fighting forces under the leadership of de Gaulle and Leclerc.
As for patriotism, the French are patriotic in a different way to the English. The English base theirs on the subjugation of others (we had an Empire) winning two world wars (with a lot of help from others, it must be remembered) and winning the World Cup in 1966
French patriotism is built upon culture (literature, the arts, gastronomy etc) and a distrust of anything too American.
The last British Prime Minister to tell an American President to fuck off was Wilson when he refused to even send a military band to Vietnam as a moral booster in case other countries might see that as a British endorsement of American imperialism. Ever since each and every British PM has been arse fucked by the Americans. The French have steadfastly refused to kow-tow to anyone!

Yes surely if we had not been cut off from mainland Europe (by the sea) we would also have been classed as cowards as well, or do you think we would have somehow managed to repel the Germans with the old British Fighting Spirit?? Certainly if we had lost the Battle of Britain we would pretty much be under Nazi Rule now.

Its a fact The Channel was our saviour in WW2 and help from the Yanks after Pearl Harbor was a God-send.
Truth? We'd have folded as quick as any other nation under Germanys taking over Europe.
