Pains me to say Newcastle as I watched them as a kid but this is the classic case of what happens when you get a pillock, namely Mike Ashley, taking over a football club. I dont share the enthusiasm for Shearer, personally. Only in football would you get a bloke who has no experience of coaching, zero experience of management and based on his "analysis" on Match of the Day not particularly insightful into football tactics, a job at allegedly ?100K a match for eight games.

Dennis Wise has now gone. If Ashley had made that decision months back Keegan would still be there. As flakey as Keegan has shown to be, at least he had the experience, motivational skills and expertise to make a better fist of it than what has happened since he left and got replaced by Kinnear.
